Why I don't use Patreon (A better recurring revenue model)

Should you use Patreon to generate recurring revenue in your online business?

I don't use Patreon, and I have some specific reasons why I don't think it's best for online business owners.

But what about generating recurring revenue? If not Patreon, what about a membership site?

I'll give you my thoughts on all of these options based on my experience in this video.

So in other words, you don't have enough subscribers to only charge 5 bucks. You'd rather charge a handful of people several hundred dollars a person and that's why you don't use it. Teaching courses are so overrated/overpriced.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. I'm writing courses and creating content and have been poundering my mind on this subject. I think I've decided Patreon doesn't work for me for the same reason of having to commit for tips. May I ask, would you recomend Kajabi for selling 1 hour consultations? or is there something else better for this. Literally I just want to set up a calendly for peole to set 1 hour meetings with me to review their art portfolios and make paint overs to help them improve their art. I wan to do this while I build my courses.

perhaps ive mis-understood. But your conclusions seems completely irrelevant to the topic illuded 'alternatives to patreon'. I cant see how anything of your conclusion, getting revenue by affiliation, has any parallel or relevance to being a creative who creates content. If all your doing is pursuing affiliate profit then your just essentially a type of investor. I have zero interest in spending my life just chasing investment opportunities. I am a creative - a musician and teacher. What would of been nice and actually relevant as a parallel to the topic of 'an alternative to Patreon' would of been where and how you host YOUR online courses.

I just came across your channel because I was looking for more info on how to build a business using patreon. I'm looking to build high-quality content for small audiences so at least for now your advice doesn't apply t me. However, its refreshing to see people succeeding with small audiences as this is also my goal.

I agree on what you say that Patreon might not be the best option but you talk about 2, 3, 4 $ per month while on Patreon you can ask whatever amount you want. You can ask even $1000 per month so in my opinion that’s not the reason why Patreon is not ideal. The reason is that is not optimized for courses/coaching kind of content, it is confusing for a lot of people and it takes a big fee on my revenue.

I just opened a gold mine but my equipment is small. I do have a big impact mill but I need a good generator for power and a hand held hammer drill. I'm unfortunately poor and struggle to get equipment.
I want to start a patrion or something in hopes I can get help with equipment I need. My mine is in New England which that alone will be worth watching! I break ground in 2 weeks!
