The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Climate and Health Program launched a series of webinars to highlight the pressing need for greater scientific and civic engagement to protect public health from a changing climate.

The third webinar on Climate Change, Extreme Heat, and Health, was hosted on August 4, 2021, from 3:00–4:15 p.m. Eastern Time, and brought together
experts from academia, the federal government, community-based organizations, and media, to discuss the interconnected issues between climate change, extreme heat, and community health efforts to reduce heat-related deaths and illness.

The webinar was moderated by Claudia Brown (CDC Climate and Health Program), and featured presentations from Dr. Ambarish Vaidyanathan (CDC
Climate and Health Program), Matthew Roach (Arizona Department of Health
Services), Dr. Jalonne White-Newsome (Empowering a Green Environment and Economy, LLC), Dr. Sharon Harlan (Northeastern University), and Dr. Andrew Pershing (Climate Central).
