Nice trick on clipping the floor tiles in the slicer!

I have a bunch of FDM terrain I printed out of airship kit my trick is to cover them in regular basing texture. Not only it enhances the grin dark look but hides the printing lines very well. I can't stress how easy it is to apply some texture to those pieces. You can paint them as corrosion or grime it dosent even matter.

A few corrections/notes brought to my attention from comments!
1) I accidentally grabbed 1/4" hardwood instead of MDF at home depot-- so that's why it was hard to cut! (Blaqk Havok)
2) The stippling on the walls would have been way easier if I used a sponge instead of a brush! (Loosely Collected)

I know this video is a little old now but you could also use a soldering iron on pla to add bullet holes as well as laser burns and other effects to walls. Ive done this to some of my failed prints to make them more usable and give them a little more character.

Absolutely awesome! Gonna strong-arm my friends with FDM printers to print something similar for me lol

Try using sponges or open cell foam instead of a brush to stipple paint on.

Nice video. Instead of the painter's tape, you may have been able to make a couple of half height pockets out of cardboard or stiff paper that you could put the piece in, stiple, remove and put the next piece in.

you have some good advice and approach to the project. but a bit of clarification. that is not MDF.. it looks like Luan or 1/4" plywood. still. thumbs up !

I'm almost done printing a set in resin, im a bit worried about the magnet, 5x3mm don't fit, need to go with 4x2mm.
I hope the result are half as good as yours !

How did you end up printing the columns? I tried with some slicer-generated supports and found that they are almost impossible to remove from the snap fit areas and from the hollow area of the column.

how long did it take you to print on your FDM printer?

Could you share your settings for cura? I tried mine but they don't fit when I try to clip them together.

Graffiti on the walls for a coffee donation? That is too good of a deal to pass on
