I'm guessing it's much easier and safer to go after law abiding citizens. BTW I hear allot about firearms but what sort of emphasis is the ATF putting on alcohol, tobacco, and or explosives? Because I'm guessing that their job isn't actually to drink, smoke, and play with explosives while circumventing the second amendment. Sorry for the over dramatic sarcasm but seriously how much of their time and our tax dollars are they devoting to alcohol, tobacco and explosives, vs firearms?
