For health reasons (pensioner) I usually skip breakfast, even if I'm heading for the gym.... At times I make a little bit of gretchkaja kasha, which I like and discovered through learning the Russian language. One can easily learn to go hungry for a few hours, and this is even very healthy, clearing out some rubble in your system!
What I avoid almost like the pest is eating sugary and starchy products. A teaspoon of honey (in tea or water) I allow once a day for breakfast.
