I have been monitoring my electric consumption with an Emporia monitor. MY AC is about 40% of electric bill. Based on the current cost of the EG4 system, I think my ROI is about 24 months. I am in the process of installing the 24K unit, 7 bifacial Sirus 410W panels, with the Signature Solar ground mount. I have a clear line of sunlight up until 5pm each day. I don't plan to hook up the unit to my grid power and will see if i can make a huge dent in my heating and cooling costs. Thanks for the video.

I think I remember seeing a Lennox system with PV inputs a while back. It'd be awesome to see more HVAC units like this, perhaps even larger 4 ton units. I've maxed out my PV inverter and still draw a considerable amount of power from the grid. Since most of my power is from cooling (TX), a larger 4 ton central/multi zone with PV input would be a cheaper (since kill two birds with one stone) way to add solar capacity without having to sell power to the city and buying it back at a higher rate.

Being in the HVAC Business my question is how are you going to fix it when it breaks down? I would like to buy one but I think I'm just gonna buy a regular mini split and add solar to the house. They seem to be the only ones making a solar unit and looks to be good deal till it doesn't work one day

I'm waiting for my wind powered mini split. 😂

you can do this with parts from harbor freight with a normal mini split...

These do both Heat and Air is that correct? Thinking about getting one of these to supplement or backup heat supply for my propane furnace and help with the AC unit which eat $$ during the summer. Enjoy your channel!

What about going over the 12 amp rating with solar panels. I was told you can’t get panels that are rated above 12 amps ISC or it will damage the built in inverter.

Does it use both power inputs if solar is below capacity?

Solar are good for the people however they are still complicated. For someone who doesn't know anything about all the techy this is so complicated.
