Thanks again to Xreart.com for gifting me the Game Boy Color shadow box! You can get one on their website. And in regards to the video, I wanted to note that I could NOT get the sound to work on this thing. So instead I used music from the following NES games: Abadox, Adventure Island 1 + 2, The Adventures of LoLo, Felix the Cat, Zombie Nation and Panic Restaurant. Thanks again for watching and have a Happy New Year! 🥳🎇

This brings back memories of me growing up in the 90s in former USSR. This is all we had.

NES: Blow on the cartridge if the game isn't working.
Dendy: Use a leaf blower on the cartridge if the game isn't working.

The background of the game list is screen shot from Aladin snes Level 4: Inside the Genie's Lamp, and that thing in left down corner is the Genie's hand you jump on

Brush Roller, that was actually an arcade game called Crush Roller/Make Trax.

I thought "Garden War" was going to be a rehash of the old VIC-20 game "Garden Wars" lol!

Loved the look on your face when you realized 'Soap Panic' was a KO of "Bubble Bath Babes" Hahaha!

Thanks again for another great video, Erin. Hope that you and Mike will have a great New year!

That kiwi Gameboy is dope. I'd want a gold and silver pokemon 2000 variant deconstructed.

Sounds more like candy. The Dendy Bar. Made with milk chocolate, caramel and nougat to satisfy even the most hardcore late night gamers.

Hey Erin! I'm from Russia and these cheap famiclones are all around now. I bought one about 5 years ago and I wasn't satisfied with it. The most annoying thing was the gamepads (especially the D-pad) that were really fucked up. In the end I just bought two original NES consoles (PAL and NTSC) and an original Famicom, and I still enjoy playing them.
About the pirated games: many games that were released in Russia were more popular under pirated titles than the original ones. For example, we had such games as Golden Axe IV (Astyanax hack), Double Dragon IV (Target: Renegade hack that is featured in your video), Batman & Flash (Monster in My Pocket hack), Top Gun III (Flight of the Intruder hack), Chip 'n Dale 3 (Heavy Barrel hack), Darkwing Duck 2 (Super C hack), Felix vs Jerry (Tiny Toon Adventures hack) etc. Also, we had a lot of NES games hacks that featured Mario instead of a main character. Some of these were Joe & Mac, Don Doko Don 2, The Flintstones: The Rescue of Dino & Hoppy, Tiny Toon Adventures, Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu and many others. One of the bootleg NES games that I recommend you to check out (if you still didn't) are Somari (port of Sonic the Hedgehog featuring Mario), Kart Fighter (pretty decent fighting game featuring characters from Mario universe) and Gaiapolis (an original beat 'em up game that is pretty fun to play).

Great video! Banana is a legitimate Famicom game. You have to get the fruit and save the girl mole in each stage. It's called Banana because if you get the banana fruit, it gives you a special item like rocks, bombs, ropes, or ladders to complete the stage.

The background of the device is taken from the hacked Aladdin game on the famicom that I used to play in my childhood called Aladdin or Aladdin 4 according to each region and in a mini version of the SNES version, but it lacks Jafar by turning it into the big snake only, the control is difficult at the beginning, but it is playable and supports password system, I had NES system on Red SEGA GENESIS and SNES form and the games mix between the NES and Famicom. most this device made on Taiwan in that time from 80s to 90s.

Hah, that's great, Erin! The "original" Dendy back in the 90s was a rather decently built Micro Genius Famicom clone from Taiwan (with no built-in games shenanigans and on actual proper hardware), but the ones out there nowadays have nothing to do with those, apart from the name, which is basically free-for-all now, since the original company (Steepler) that imported and rebranded the "originals" is long gone. Current Dendy-knockoffs (it sounds funny Dendy being itself a knockoff, I know, but it is what it is) are super cheap-ass low-quality product made solely to capitalize on and exploit the nostalgia factor.
