35 years was a long wait, but Little Italy has become the jewel in San Diego’s crown these days.

One nice thing about areas like this back in the day is that they were more family oriented with family-friendly prices. Everything is so fancy and expensive in San Diego now.

Little Italy has been ruined now from apartment complexes and shit. It’s pretty sad.

My dad and mom used to take us to Felippe's for the bread, mortadella and provolone, Italian cookies and almond candy. We would then go to the airport and look through the chain link fence at the airplanes landing. Fun!

My Grandparents were instrumental in the start of SD little Italy. Most of my relatives lived there in the 20's to 80's. In the early 60's you could run down India St and not worry about getting run over by a car. I still go there to Felipe's and Mona Lisa once or twice a year. I have to say it's been taken over by Hippsters & too many apartments but Hey nearly all of the Italians moved to the suburbs. That's progress I guess.
