Always loved Sidney Poitier, the first time probably being when I was about ten and my older sister took me to the movies on the bus towatch ''A Patch of Blue." I was so in awe. ''In the Heat of the Night" is wonderful viewing. Thank you, Sidney Poitier. 💙☮️🕊️💕🕊️💙

Greatest line, at that time, spoken by a man of color, to a man of no color.
We, in my neighborhood, loved every bit of this movie. Especially the slap return, later in the movie.❤😂

My parents are both born in the early 40s my mum scottish and white, my dad grenadine and black, they married in the early 60s.

One of my mum’s favourite films was to sir with love and that’s how I came across Mr Poitier has an actor.

My 1980s born self never really appreciated his acting skills till I was older, or the fact he was ahead of his time back then, I always used to think they were boring old fart films.

I matured like Mr Tibbs and see depth in everything now.

Sly attempt by the Southern sheriff to grab the autopsy report so he can destroy it and say it got lost in the mail.

"Not that it would make any difference". What did Tibbs mean to say by that ?
