Cancer and Leo have a lot in common. They are giving, vibrant, sensitive. The difference is that Cancer tends to be inward, and Leo is outward. Let me explain. Cancer is a water sign, and therefore it operates on the emotional level. Even if the Cancerian appears to be someone who is very mental, and very practical, basically, that comes out of feelings. Cancers are very good at hiding feelings until they feel safe, but that is the way they operate, through the emotional level. Leo, on the other hand, is a fire sign, full of passion and energy, a sense of being magnificent. Leo is the super star, and needs a great deal of attention. So, at the beginning of the relationship, they seem to fit each others needs, because Cancer pays a lot of attention in the ways that matter to Leo. There's lots of affection, an abundance of giving, an abundance of being protective. The Leo loves to feel loved. But then what happens is that Leo needs a lot more from the Cancer than is able to get. Obviously Leo needs a lot from everybody, but in this relationship, particularly, Cancer will tend to be more and more sensitive, or touchy, will take umbrage at certain of Leo's controlling ways, or Leo demanding this or that. edit: I love how I've been in a relationship with a Cancer for three years and everyone's saying our zodiacs are incompatible .-. to the people out there asking this question...don't ask if they are compatible. every sign works with every sign in some way or another. and if you're in love, then you're in love for a reason and there is some way to make it work. it might be more or less effort than another relationship, and whether or not that's worth it is up for you to decide. but there is no, "are they compatible." yes they are; there are almost 8 billion people and you can't tell me that a fraction of the them aren't wedded cancers and leos.
