Senator Rand Paul, a vocal Libertarian, asks Congress for tornado disaster relief after being against disaster relief for Texas and Puerto Rico years prior. The Majority Report crew calls Paul out on his hypocrisy and discuss whether Amazon will be held accountable for not following building protocols which resulted in many casualties.

We stream our live show every day at 12 PM ET.

Sam Seder: These tornadoes in Kentucky are very rare for this time of year. Huge for this time of year there is a lot of reason to believe this is a function of global climate change. You can't there's no one weather incident that you can point to and say with any you know definitively this is a function of climate change, but when you start having
weird weather patterns in more extreme weather patterns and more and weirder weather events and you know that global temperatures are getting hotter in certain areas, maybe cooler in certain areas during certain times. The strange- You know in this instance it was a brutal weather event and it's not just a function. Obviously, these deaths are not just a function of the tornado, could be a function of let's say, the amazon facility that was there, they don't allow their workers to have cell phones so they're not necessarily aware of- They're not getting the alert-

I’m so glad I grew out of libertarianism.

You can also lump in Mitch McConnell who didn’t want “blue state bailouts”.

"Today, Rand Paul asked Joe Biden for federal help for Kentucky — even though Paul has voted against every federal disaster relief package of the last 10 years, " wrote lawyer Tristan Snell. Kentucky receives over $9, 000 per person in federal aid while New Jersey gives $2, 368 per person to the federal government.

Libertarian? Rand Paul? No. He believes in socialism for himself and capitalism for the rest of us.

What happened to Libertarianism? What happened to "Every Man for Himself?" Also, What is he doing to help the people? Is he using his own money?

Last to give others assistance; first to demand own assistance. = Republican.

Whenever a Libertarian requests government aid, an angel gets its wings.

Sorry Rand Paul we already allocated any disaster relief funds into rebuilding the capitol. We could give you some help but we'll have to raise the debt ceiling.

More frequent and severe weather events are a long-predicted feature of climate change, and it's happening.

What happened to all that covid money that was sent to Kentucky that they did not distribute or spend and pocketed for themselves? Why can't they use that for help?

I feel Rand Paul is right... /s
We totally should not spend money we don't have - let's make federal Aid a loan repayable by wealth taxes on Kentucky wealthy

I'm surprised Bezo's isn't selling what happened as an Amazon employee perk:

"It literally cost me billions to leave Earth's orbit. But if you come and work at an Amazon facility in the hurricane belt, there's a good chance you could reach similar altitudes for free."

The sooner that every Amazon worker comprehends that they are considered to be expendable drones in the company's eyes and fully unionise, the better.
