MY dad and mum seen him live in Goulburn at the Goulburn Workers club a few years before he passed away around the time he appeared on our midday tv  show.Although dad said he was a little tipsy he still could belt out a song, he also got to shake his hand, he was a breath of fresh air in the early 50 s before rock n roll, i also like a lot of his tunes .

He reined in the histrionics and really delivered this one. Always my favorite Johnnie Ray track. Great arrangement (likely Ray Conniff) and Mitch Miller production. I remember this spinning on an old 20-record Rockola at Ted Mack Camp in Great Barrington, MA; the sound on that machine was magnificent, and this record was thundering (at least for the time). Yip-yip-whip-bop-de-boom indeedy!!!
