2.3 miles is way to deep for a Company to be sending Tourist down there. Now if it was the Brittanic which is only 400 ft under water, then that's understandable. Hopefully those 5 people are ok.

Ocean Gate has been very shady with their response to this! Doesn't sound like they have an extra submersible to go out and look for them either! They are history after this! They'll be bankrupt for this disaster. They're backup air reserve is already up. There is a back up reserve that brings it to the surface after 24 hours, assuming there was not catastrophic failure.

This is a terrible situation all around, and man do I hope they're rescued. Not only do I feel horrible for the families of those in the sub, but also the decedents of Titanic's compliment. Even if the sub didn't crash into the ship or anything, the idea having a modern tragedy associated with the original one has got to be painful as hell.

I hope things turn out okay! I'm in Nova Scotia, not far from Halifax where some of the Titanic folks are buried. This just came across our noon news, hopefully it's nothing too major. Fingers crossed!

I’m following it on BBC News now. I hope they’re found safe but I don’t have much hope, I’m afraid. I wasn’t aware you could make trips to the wreck as an average (albeit loaded with cash) person. I hope at least some of the money for a ticket (around £200, 000) goes to museums etc but I doubt it

What they may do in the search is start from the wreck site and work their way out since Titanic's location is a known point to start from and the sub's destination.
