PLOT: In the prehistoric world, a Cro-Magnon tribe depends on an ever-burning source of fire, which eventually extinguishes. Lacking the knowledge to start a new fire, the tribe sends three warriors (Everett McGill, Ron Perlman, Nameer El-Kadi) on a quest for more. With the tribe's future at stake, the warriors make their way across a treacherous landscape full of hostile tribes and monstrous beasts. On their journey, they encounter Ika (Rae Dawn Chong), a woman who has the knowledge they seek.

One of my favorite movies of all time. Great atmosphere, great pictures, a plausible and good story with twists and turns, drama and jokes. You can follow everything without understanding the language of the people. So accurate with everything, you really feel shifted into that time when watching this completely underrated masterpiece.

i love how it shows them caring for their most wounded, even completely immobilized, with a destroyed shoulder, and presumably with a broken jaw (he cannot chew his own food), im sure they loved him very much

Watched this on acid. It was awesome. The thing that separates this movie from other prehistoric movies is that it uses few soundtracks that are really cool andwhole movie is about hese peoole way of life with no fancy cameras, angles, spcial effects etc. It's like a documentary
