In this tutorial, we explain how to model and simulate a mass-spring damper system in Simulink/MATLAB. We first explain how to derive a state-space model of the system, and then, we explain how to simulate the system in Simulink and how to plot the displacement and velocity of the mass as a function of time by using Simulink Scope.
