Chargebacks on eBay - They Don’t Have To Be A Nightmare!

I discuss my experiences with chargebacks, why they happen and what you should do when it eventually happens to you. It’s not fun when chargebacks happen but it doesn’t necessarily mean you will lose the case. Follow my tips and hope for the best.

I failed to mention the chargeback process can take up to 90 days for the bank to render a decision. So be patient.

Everyone talks about buyer chargebacks but now what happens if you file a chargeback as a seller with your bank, having them charge back eBay's manage payment charge for eBay refund to the buyer that scammed the system. Another scamming buyer that mailed you back some crap that you didn't send them. eBay won't care, a buyer that has your item and a full refund pulled straight from your eBay funds, which you have no funds available in your account, eBay would have to get those funds straight from your bank account on file, in then which you charge eBay right back as soon as the charge hits your bank account.

You forgot to mention that a buyer usually have 6 months to do this and that if you lose, it is an additional 20 bucks.

Thanks for the informational video! So I do need some advice I just sold a 1200$ item on eBay and we shipped the item to the buyer. When he received the item it was in bad shape so he contacted me and wanted his money back. The damage was obviously from shipping so I told him to make a shipping claim. He responded by canceling the dispute with eBay and disputing the charge on his card. As soon as he did that eBay took back the money that they gave us for the item and we tried to make a claim with the shipping company who never got back with us and after about fifty days of waiting eBay decided to rule in the buyers favor and is now charging me another 1400$ even though they already canceled the payment. If you had time to respond with any help that would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Great video, I have recently sold a jacket on grailed which was authentic, buyer has claimed a chargeback via paypal claiming the item is not authentic, how can I ensure the chances of winning this ? The buyer has uploaded a photo of a jacket that is not mine as their evidence.

You are words ring true my friend. Thank you for all your great content. I have not had any charge backs yet but I've had many instances of buyers not receiving the items due to Post Office delays, and what I do is answer right away, tell them that I am going to follow up, and I really contact them each day What's the short message. I even open up a late item case with the Post Office for them. Typically data responded all, Just today a light late item was delivered, IS eBay for me appeal, and they decide in my favour Because I was as you said diligent and the buyer made no effort at all to even answer my messages Regards Mike

I ordered an item, tracking says delivered, I didn't receive it, I opened an item not received case asking for a refund, wait a week, the seller never responds, ebay steps in and says I won't get a refund. If I do a chrageback, does the unresponsiveness of the seller make them look bad and make the chargeback more likely to stick?

I just had a chargeback a couple of weeks ago. Reason was didn't recognize transaction, which was from back in November. The only thing eBay would let me upload was the tracking, I couldn't write anything else and I could only upload the photo of the tracking. This buyer waited until day 119 so there wasn't any tracking history on USPS anymore but eBay still had it luckily. I took a screenshot of the tracking from eBay and sent it. I haven't heard anything as of yet.

It actually DID keep me up last night well woke me up after only 4 hours of sleep, than I watched ur video bc while I’m more awake I’m getting even more pissed off w the completely horrible person Im having to deal w. It’s bad enough she talked me down on my price, but she than opened a refund request bc “the color isn’t what I needed it to match” & even tho that’s a ridiculous return reason I DID accept it & sent her the shipping label, she THAN AFTER she got the label she filed a chargeback 🤯😳🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 I mean I wish I knew what credit card she used or the bank she’s disputing this w.

Haven't had a chargeback knock on wood. I had a weird and potential situation to really mess up my track record happen. A buyer bough a item I had 2 itdentical of and was shipping in a medium flat rate box. Well they only charged him for one shipping cost and both items cannot fit in a medium flat rate box. I spoke to beay and they said the system must have had a glitch. They said they would invoice the buyer $15.50, well he isn't going to be very happy making megative feedback more possible and second I am stil lstick with only one listing and two shipments so how am I supposed to print labels for 2 different boxes. How they hell does this happen. I do not see a combined shipping option in the listing when I make it but it appears thats what they did for him. They said in 24-48 hrs they will get in contact with him. Guess what I have to ship this out by monday!! No response from buyer yet. What should I do? I offered to ship it a different method so he did not have to pay more which would be UPS ground but would this be a bad idea? Could they retaliate or get their money back if I do not use the buyer chosen method? Plz help, this is the most messed up situation I have ever had.

MIGHT BE WORTH EVEN IF YOU LOSE HAND THERE INFORMATION TO THE AUTHORTIES AND THERE BANKS AND IF THEY KEEP DOING IT THERE BANK MIGHT BLACK LIST THEM

My scammer just filed a charge back for an $8.50 item with free untracked shipping. This is the 3rd or 4th scam someone has pulled on me in the last 2 months and I am getting really sick of it. I swear a whole scamming ring is out to get me.
