Hey john i dont know if youll see this but do you have a favorite exoplanet or planet type?

Fermi Paradox is tough: whether the civ goes into a techno bubble around home planet (but is really Omega-minus and Kard I/II capable); Or they go 'all out' classic kard II and colonize 100k systems w/ even 1-10% of those having megastructures like Dyson Spheres, Nevin Rings, Matrioshka Shell worlds, drone fleets of 100bil 1km long drones. etc.
...We're JUST BEGINNING to mediocrely detect exoplanets and basic spectral emissions of the host stars (and Lrg exoplanets): our ability to differentiate between a large asteroid belt and giant dyson swarm of diff sized pieces = just beyond our current abilities.

...IF Milky way has >=1 large Kard 2 civilization, we're still limited in our space program, in that we could EASILY overlook an EMPIRE OF 100K SYSTEMS...among the 100-200bil stars of our galaxy: the number of our good telescopes/sensors, the time to look long-term at each star, etc = We need 1-10k times our current space program to reliably (and in decent timescale) search for K1/K2 signatures.

I’ve wondered many times whether the possum is really a possum. In fact, I once posted a comment under another video of yours some time ago in which I asked, “Are you sure the possum is a possum? It sounds more like a weasel to me. A constipated weasel. With asthma.” To which Eryn (the voice of Anna) replied and said she was going to tell you I said that. 😂 It’s all in good fun. Love you guys. Can’t wait for spooky season.

We could be seeing signals that we have no analog for our technological level. Love the content John, keep up the great work!

Wow John, thanks!

The Barrow Scale is powerful. If one plots the Barrow Scale in one axis and 'completeness' on the other, one ends up with a cool description of what an alien species does and how far it's gone in each domain.

It's powerful for another reason too. One can overlay physical constraints such as speed of light, planck distance and other difficulties of action. Inside these constraint 'isobars' you have the 'low hanging fruit' of environment mastery you'd expect civilisations like ours to crack in just a few centuries.

Love your videos man, I’m very excited for the future of space and the discoveries we will make. Hopefully we will still be blessed to have JMG covering these discoveries for many years to come.

That felt like an extra long at the end of the video. Definitely top 10.

IMHO the Kardishev scale gets far too much credit.
