Yep, to echo some others... I'm NOT a plumber... I'm an engineer, so can manage to do things at a push. I didn't know about the isolation valves and 20 secs of your video saved me likely 200 quid!

Super helpful, my daughter is away in the UK at university housing, and the faucet disengaged this evening while the water was running, hot water to boot. Anyway, no one on duty at the front office, no maintenance on duty either. Thank god for this video cause in the USA we don't have these type of isolation taps with the turnscrew. Instead we halve valve shutoffs that turn, so without this video, that entire building would be without hot water very soon. Many many thanks!

Got leaking pipe to cold tap in kitchen and can't afford to get it fixed (this month, need a new sink). Now I no longer have a leaking pipe to the tap. Thanks!

Thankyou so much for this video. I very badly needed turn off the water in my sink. OK. The water in my sink was turn off adequately. I turned off the water in my sink. I turned off the water in my sink. The water inside the sink-basin area has been turned off. As of now, there is no more water running inside the basin of the sink in which there was once water running inside of. No need for alarm. There is currently no more water running inside the sink. The tap has been turned to the right as specified in the video. Thank you. I thank you from the very bottom of my heart. The tap has been turned off. There is no more water running from the kitchen water supply. If you think about the mains water supply as x, and the tap as y, y has been nullified. Turned to the right. The water has officially been turned off. When people are feeling ill it is often customary to offer them water. The disassociated state of mind is one in which I am not sure I want to access anymore. I feel confused as to whether it is doing harm, good or neither. It is simply an experience that has no bearing on who I am as a human. In the moment, it feels momentous, as moments do. Hindsight, it feels weightless, as remembered moments oft do.
