Ben Solo wasn't used to flirting with girls. When he was young, Ben was raised by nannies droids (Han and Leia were often absent). Then Ben was raised by Luke, and finally by Snoke.
It didn't teach him tact, which is why his declaration of love seems shocking. But you can feel Ben loves really Rey. When you know Ben's upbringing, it's very amazing that he's able to love Rey so much. It's almost a miracle.

And Ben saves Rey as much as she saves him. Ben says several times to Rey : "Let the past die. Let go !" because he saw that Rey was wasting her life waiting for her dead parents. He wakes her up as much as she wakes him up. Even if Ben's words make Rey suffer, they're true. Ben is honest with her.
Since he is the man of her life, he unknowingly awakens the Force in Rey when he questions her for the first time. The prince awakens the princess in several ways.

I think Reylo is the most beautiful couple of all Star Wars. Beauty and the Beast in the stars ! It is also a mixture of Romeo and Juliet, Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice.
I hope that Ben is not really dead, and that Rey will find him because they were created to be together. They are soul mates in the Force, for worse and now for better.

I see most comments are from women, so from a male perspective I applaud your Reylo videos. They are touching and beautifully done. They truly capture the essence of the complex relationship that "Ben" and Rey built over the span of the three films. It shows that Ben still had some semblance of input or control, despite Kylo Ren trying to be the dominant persona due to the dark side contamination. Although the "Happy Ending" would have satisfied many a viewer, the ending as it happened is much more powerful as it elicits strong feelings associated with the sacrifice of a redeemed tragic character. It invalidates many of the criticisms related to the lack of character development, as it is clear that viewers were quite invested in the character of Ben Solo and his inner struggles with Kylo Ren and his interactions with and feelings for Rey, his Father and his Mother. If just for the Reylo dynamic, I give this film a grade of "A".

To everyone coming here after Ben Solos Why didn’t he show up as a force ghost at the end? Why did Rey seem happy after Ben “died?” Well here I am to propose a If Palpatine can return? Why not Ben solo? I mean it why the hell not? What if Rey and Bens Dyad in the force is so powerful that there could be a way to bring him back? I mean come on.... That would make a good tv series or stand alone film. SUPER corny I know.... But just a theory. I don’t think it’s been done before where they bring a character back to life through a force dyad. Worth a shot? I would forgive Disney for the shit show of a trilogy and massive waste of potential with certain characters they brought forth, if they did this.
