It's amazing how close everything is together, there's no room, everything is packed into a small space.

Caught a bad sinus cold a few weeks ago. Recovered fine except one of my ears became really blocked with fluid and even experiencing dizziness. Popping the ear didn't help until I discovered a cool trick. I mixed up a warm saline solution and filled a 1 mm sterile syringe about half way with the solution. I tilted my head back and slightly (10 - 15 degrees) toward the affected ear. I carefully placed the syringe toward the back of my nose (on the side of the affected ear) and puddled the warm saline around the base of the Eustachian Tube. Finally, while still holding head tilted, performed the Valsalva maneuver. Heard a very squeaky sound in the affected ear which I believe was the movement of the saline up the Eustachian Tube. Did the Valsalva several more times. Repeated this procedure twice a day and believe it or not my blocked ear resolved itself within about 3 or 4 days.

oh wow thanks for sharing. i hate these tubes with a burning passion. i have chronic obstructive Eustachian tube dysfunction which means I get the honour of having tubes implanted in my ears occasionally and the joys of hearing aids

One way to pop your ear. Instead of blowing out, inhale in without inhaling air. Like creating a vacuum. Works for me every time

Guys...your channel is so fascinating and educational! A breath of fresh air in a sea of dull and moronic content. I also appreciate...as a person not used to dead bodies..that you cover some of the parts or zoom to a specific area. Thank you for the content!

I can open the eustachian tube at will by controlling the localized muscles at it, no mouth movement/yawning required. The only times I can't do that is when the tube is inflamed.

You gotta do more ear stuff, i really can't grasp what's in there; it's all so densely packed, 2d diagrams don't help me much

I’ve had difficulty equalizing my inner ear pressure most of my life. When I was about 10, I had an operation to open up the 😮Eustachian Tubes Before that, I had frequent ear aches. Even after that operation, I have always had to hold my nose and force air to pop my ears.

This short is also very good because it shows the pituitary where I have a tumor at the moment. Very informative. 💥👍

I dig the topic but it would be good if this had a second shot showing the ear side more clearly because this feels like only 1/3 of the story & the inner ear is mysterious

You should explain that one further... it's pretty nice to feel your hearing increased 40% after popping the ears

I've always wondered, when I use the muscle in my head to open these tubes (like yawning but without opening my mouth), does that muscle do anything else?

I was very relaxed ohhhh. I can feel you're scratching my eustachian tube entry upside of my palate.😊

It would be nice if he points out where the ear canal or ear drum relative to that.

Just came back from the mountains and I popped my ears 6 times! And it’s scary at first, because you feel all of this pressure building up in your ears. Sometimes, I just yawn it out.
