explanation

It originated from "Mangwonjeong", the 9th monument of Seoul Metropolitan City. It was built in 1424 as the villa of Hyoryeongdaegun, the son of King Taejong of Joseon. It was called Heewoojeong (喜雨亭). In 1484, it was changed to the possession of Wolsandaegun, Seongjong's elder brother, and Wolsandaegun repaired the pavilion and made it Mangwonjeong (望遠亭), meaning "you can see the distant scenery well."

In 1506, Yeonsan-gun attempted to expand Mangwonjeong on the Han River, but the construction was stopped due to the mid-term and failed. Mangwonjeong, located on the west side of Yanghwanaru, was lost due to a flood in 1925, but was restored in 1991 and is now located in Hapjeong-dong #457-1.

Sangam-dong is located in the west with Hongjecheon in between, Seongsan-dong and Seogyo-dong in the north, Hapjeong-dong in the east, and Mangwon Hangang Park and the Han River in the south.
