Cinema 4D 2024.4 empowers 3D VFX artists and motion designers to create complex scenes with ease.

Design particle simulations intuitively with new Cinema 4D Particles! Integration with C4D’s Unified Simulation systems allows artists to control emission patterns, modify behaviors precisely, and orchestrate interactions with Maxon’s collection of simulation types, including Pyro, Cloth, soft bodies, and rigid bodies. Render particles scenes with Redshift, or cache and export them via Alembic. New Cinema 4D Particles presets are available in the Asset Browser, giving artists creative options for starting any project. New presets will be added continuously.

Simulations have been improved with updates to Cinema 4D’s Connector Object, offering a refreshed look, streamlined workflows, and art director-friendly behaviors. Rigid body simulations now allow artists to automatically connect multiple objects, aerodynamics offer more realistic simulation, and caching simulations are much more flexible due to external cache capabilities.

Other enhancements/additions include Property Transfer, which makes it easy to transfer tag data from one object to another, and a new Keep Spacing option for the Smooth Edge tool. The Asset Browser now automatically triggers the Place tool while dragging assets to a scene and instantly creates auto-generated dome lights for HDRI assets.

@maxonvfx You can see how much people wanted particles, please keep improving it, even blender basic particles are way better, keeping adding more vfx tools, like improve voronoi fracture and add water simulations capabilities it will mean a lot for us vfx artist not having to jump back and forth between softwares

What about flip solvers for fluid sims? Is it time to say goodbye to Realflow?

Great update tbh. Finally an updated particle system! Now please make it possible to use Maxon One on two machines to be able to actually render C4D-Files on my desktop workstation in the studio and meanwhile work with Red Giant - Stuff in Ae on my Laptop on site at the venue, for god's sake!!! Just ask your partner Adobe on how it's done. This is soooo annoying. The whole licensing process should be way more in focus to stop people from switching to blender....

this will kill xparticle, and bring C4D to life again. nice done. Oh by the way, the price is sky-high, please consider making an indy version with low price. thank you

I hope they will iterate on the particle features

Is there a workflow for replicating what the xpCover does in X-Particles? It's a pretty cumbersome hack to use two matrix objects and the inheritance effector... Even with this update it seems very difficult to have particles slowly form into an object.

I always disliked xparticles for being so buggy and difficult to learn. I’m very impressed with the direction maxon is going for. I hope soon, no c4d user will even want to use Houdini. It looks like c4d is going to include more things like vellum in future. Awesome 😎

Why are the new particles ignored by the Volume Builder/Mesher and by the Redshift Render Tag? Is it a bug? You have to workaround with Cloners and such. Would be nice to use it as direct input.
