Peahen calling

We have a young peacock walking around free at my work place right now (gardeners shop) and I had no idea that the little ones sound like old rusty car horns.
Cue to me jumping out of my skin when Frida sneaks up on me from behind and happily starts "talking"... 😅😂

Ok! I was wondering if something was wrong with her beak (the lady peahen we have in our neighborhood). Sometimes it sounds like she has a crack in her beak or something, but from the sound of this one it's pretty much exactly the same! I didn't realize that Peacocks and Peahens make different sounds! I feel bad for our sweet peahen... I wish she had a friend or lover. She's always stressed and scared(unless I'm sticking my head out the window talking to her! That calms her so much! She's learned to trust me. She comes to my window multiple times a day and just listens to me talk to her!) I hope she'll be alright this winter... Maybe I'll need to feed her?I hate to do that though because I want all of our wild animals to be self-sufficient. (I learned my lesson with that already, now that we have 30 destructive squirrels all over the neighborhood. I stopped feeding all the animals once the squirrels were so well fed that they all had tons of babies...)

That's the sound I've been looking for!! My neighbour has kindly got some of these and that's the noise I've heard constantly. So thanks neighbour. They do look cool but wish they would shut up. By the way, how many views on this video? We'll watch anything, lol
