What is comprehensive coverage?

Comprehensive insurance coverage is coverage for damage to your vehicle that is caused by something other than a collision such as if your car is stolen, if it's involved in a fire, if an animal causes damage to it, if a tree falls on it, if it's vandalized, if it's damaged in a hurricane or a tornado, that's when comprehensive coverage would apply.
