Man I would really like to see Albon do well, but the Williams cars just don't look like they can compete by a long shot. Haas has definitely been the surprise in testing and with Magneson helping I can see Schumacher getting into the top 10, possibly.

I don't think it's fair to say George's predicted performance is a crapshoot.

He drove once for Mercedes in 2020, and would have won the race if it weren't for that nightmare pit crew fuck-up.
And despite that mistake, he was on track for 1st or 2nd again, before the slow puncture.

It shows 3 things:
-Incredible quali pace in competitive machinery.
-Incredible race pace in competitive machinery.
-Incredible resilience in the face of adversity.

I'm not going to claim he'll beat Hamilton.
Lewis has that deep hunger to win that helps him unlock more pace from thin air. With that chip on his shoulder from 2021, I expect Lewis to be the most determined version of himself he can possibly be.
But I think George will be closer to Lewis than Bottas was - And Bottas was often pretty close.
