By law, in Minneapolis, you can't buy a soft drink over 10 oz.

I hope you enjoy mini soda!

(If you don't know US geography, it's a pun on Minnesota)

Bonus pun: See, everyone always talks about NYC and where the Big Apple is, however nowhere near as many people know where the Minneapolis

Toad didn't read Defender's Guide to follow it
He read it to despise it. To antagonise it. To make the perfect anti troll guide level.

13:15 What a subtle change by the editor lol that one made me double take

Ccat
ะะฒั‚ะพั€

4:50 wasn't an unnecessary soft lock, it was a redundant one. A soft lock within a soft lock just because the level creator could. It is asserting the dominance of the soft locks.

13:20 that subtle edit at the mountains with the shiny. I did notice that editor I did see you

They never said toad listened to the troll guide, just that he read it

Obviously it means "Unless someone finds another softlock to put in the level"

Dosino_
ะะฒั‚ะพั€

"5 softlocks before CP1, yes or no?"
Level: has a clear condition and no CP
Is this another one of those where Carl scams chat?

Iโ€™m glad someone pointed out that he didnโ€™t need to break the block. He died to the ending part like 4 times after he had enough information to beat it lol it was driving me nuts

Toad reads Defender's troll guide. Toad does not, however, follow the guide.

27:40 I thought there was some Tolkein lore that I needed to know, but as I was looking up the joke it hit me.

Yoooo I love Final Fantasy Tactics! You mentioned it was scary, I definitely agree it had some good atmosphere but funnily enough the most scared I got playing it was after putting in tens of hours I stumbled upon a hidden mechanic. For some groundwork, each character had two stats amongst others that were fairly unique to the series - "brave" and "faith". Basically brave was for physical combat stuff, and faith was for magic. The numbers had impact not only on how good you were at that thing, but how good that thing was on you (for better or worse.) Example - high faith characters would both receive more healing from healing magic, but also more damage from damaging magic. Abilities could slowly shift these numbers over time so you could min/max your characters with them. Anyway, the hidden mechanic - if a character ends up with too little brave, or too high faith, they have a risk of deserting your party. Either because they're literally too scared to fight, or because they are too devout to be violent. Well for whatever reason, and I may be misremembering, the first time I ran into this mechanic a popup happened at a time I did not expect at all, and I vaguely remember it being not formatted like the rest of the information that would be shown during gameplay. I just remember it catching me so off-guard it legitimately scared the hell out of me. It's silly. I think it shows up in the post-battle sequence, which had a very nice and pleasing, consistent flow as it presented the battle report and did all its wishy wooshy animation stuff. It'd be like a popup stylized like the game Persona showing up in the end sequence of a Mario Maker level that said "You stomped too many goombas!" or something. It was really jarring.

tl;dr final fantasy tactic good but weird scare

You misunderstand, by "final version until someone finds another soft lock" means that once someone finds a 'fun' new way to force a soft lock, the level will be updated to include it.

This is a really clever level. You should make a compilation of the most clever levels with little outros. I remember there was one that was a knowledge-gated auto-scroller.

Tactics was so amazingly dark despite it's art style. the scenes of wounded knights breaking into rooms and leaving blood trails behind them as they drag themselves to safety while a massacre happen off screen were so well done. that game needs a true re-release, not the broken ones they have been releasing for mobile. (and while advanced was also lots of fun it was not the same at all)
