Forget the cost of the 4090 and a new PSU, it's the cost of the structural engineer you will have to hire to provide adequate card support, that will hit the hardest.

I think what people aren't realizing is Nvidia's intent with these cards. The 4000 series isn't meant to increase performance on programs naturally. With the reveal of Nvidia's new AI software "Remix", granting RTX GPU holder's the ability to add ray tracing to classic games running on DirectX8 and 9; Nvidia is handing over the keys to hundreds of games to be modded by the community. In addition, RTX card holders will be able to increase the resolution of these classic games as well as mod them more efficiently. Nvidia has increased the CUDA Cores specifically for "Remix" to be able to render these files faster and as such, we see the vast improvements with the use of DLSS 3.

For 4080 or 4090, it's going to cost you 4000 dollars desktop ( motherboard for 40xx, CPU, cables for 40xx, power supply for 40xx etc ).
PC desktop is no longer cheap and easy to get it.

I don't mind the 4090 price tho, it's similar to 3090 and huge performance gain if it's true, not so much for the so called 4080 12gb which is 4070
