How to use Tie-Fast Knot tyer for Nail knot and Snell knot

The Tie-Fast Knot tyer is handy for making Nail knot quickly and efficiently. It is easy to use, low cost and helpful for making Nail knot with leader material onto fly line. Also popular for terminal tackles such as hooks, lures, swivels, clips and weights. The Tie-Fast Knot tyer also has a hook eye cleaner, convenient for removing dirt in the eye of the hook.
The Fat Elf shows you how to tie Nail knot on fly line, tie Nail knot on lure, tie Snell knot on hook, and Nail knot splice for joining 2 different line using the Tie-Fast Knot tyer.
Steps for Nail knot on fly line:
1. Run leader over the thumb pad and through fork of the jig.
2. Secure line with thumb and wrap tag line 5 rounds towards the thumb.
3. Hold the wraps tightly with pointer finger.
4. Feed tag end line through wraps towards the fork.
5. Insert fly line about an inch into the wraps.
6. Hold the leader on jig firmly with thumb and pull the wraps onto main line in one quick jerk.
7. Moisten and tighten the knot steadily.
8. Trim the tag ends.
Steps for Nail knot on lure:
1. Pass tag end through the lure to make a loop and secure the lure at the back of the jig.
2. Run loop lines over the thumb pad and through fork of the jig.
3. Secure loop lines with thumb and wrap tag line 5 rounds towards the thumb.
4. Hold the wraps tightly with pointer finger.
5. Feed tag end line through wraps towards the fork.
6. Hold the loop line on jig firmly with thumb and pull the wraps onto main line in one quick jerk.
7. Slide the knot back to the lure
8. Tighten the knot steadily.
9. Trim the tag ends.
Steps for Snell knot on hook:
1. Pass tag end through the eye of the hook towards shank and draw about 5 inches of line.
2. Place hook on the jig with bend of the hook at the fork.
3. Secure line and hook with thumb and wrap tag line 5 rounds towards the thumb.
4. Hold the wraps tightly with pointer finger.
5. Feed tag end line through wraps towards the fork.
6. Hold the line on jig firmly with thumb and pull the wraps onto hook in one quick jerk.
7. Pull the main line to slide knot back to the eye of the hook.
8. Moisten and tighten the knot steadily.
9. Trim the tag ends.
The steps for Nail knot splice:
1. Overlap 6 inches of mono line on fluorocarbon line in opposite direction.
2. Run lines from centre of overlap over the thumb pad and through fork of the jig.
3. Secure line with the thumb and wrap tag line 3 rounds towards the thumb.
4. Hold the wraps tightly with pointer finger.
5. Feed tag end line through the wraps towards the fork.
6. Hold the lines on jig firmly with thumb and pull the wraps onto main line in one quick jerk.
7. Rotate the lines and repeat steps 1 to 6.
8. Pull the 2 main lines until the knots meet.
9. Trim the tag ends.
