STAR TREK PICARD - S03E10 Different CGI in US/EU Versions

Season 3 Episode 10. I don´t know why but the US-Version looks much better than the EU-Version. Correction the difference is between Paramount+/Sky and AmazonPrime
Edit2: I removed the sound and replaced it with TNG Intro sound. The Voiceover in this scene is the same... I coldn´t spot any other differences.

UPDATE 2023-04-27 I just checked Amazon-Prime Germany again. They changed it to the "US" Version. So I think they got a unfinished version that is now corrected.

I’m in the UK and I got the same CGI as the US did.

The US version was originally created for the IMAX screenings and Paramount decided to use it for the P+ version, according to Trekcore.

Either way I'm just delighted they used the "proper" warp field effect!!

The EU version would have been my preference but with better CGI. I like the TNG-style shot.

S03 was finally real StarTrek, that's what matters.

The “EU” version was an unfinished effect, it has now been corrected.

However the recent Blu-ray release unfortunately has the unfinished effect on the disc.

Interestingly enough the phisical DVD/Blu-ray release features the "EU" version but only on the main menu with all the other clips and snippets. The actual episode however still contains the "US" version (which also appears on all the streaming platforms). Thought that was quite interesting

This was good catch before the update.

It really looks like they tried very hard to make a straight TNG tribute shot (which the EU version got) but then decided they needed a bit more modernization.

Can confirm that I can see the US version in the UK when watching on Paramount+.

I’m guessing the US version of the shot was a last minute addition and the EU version was already in the can before they could add it.

EU version actually looks like TNG episode opening, but the speed is way off?

I was wondering about that too watching the EU cut. The Enterprise looks really flat and kinda low-res in the EU version.

even though the textures are lower detail, the EU version is 12x better, and feel more of a proper homage to the source material of TNG's title card

We have the US version here in Germany as well. Pretty sure it's more of a "wrong version uploaded" thing, which they fixed by now.
