When I first heard Seong-Jin play I remember being struck by an unusually intuitive playing that seemed to bring so many things to life on the spot. His story was convincing and mesmerizing without any need for words, and he brought me a little closer to Ravel, whom I had not liked or cared for previously. ... 조성진은 그 어떤 곡이라도 서사를 주고 개연성을 준다. 어떤곡은 다른 피아니스트의 연주를 들으면 뭐 이런 곡을 작곡했냐 싶은데, 조성진 연주를 들으면 납득해버림.
