Metamaterials: An Introduction

Metamaterials are specially engineered materials, made from combinations of at least two materials, such as metals and plastics, that are designed to interact with waves (such as sound and light) in ways that naturally occurring materials do not.

The Centre for Metamaterials Research and Innovation based across the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Department of Engineering at the University of Exeter is a community of academic, industrial, and governmental partners that research and fabricate metamaterials, and metamaterial-based devices.
