Grocery Stores Now Selling Ammunition From Vending Machines

As an openly AmmoSexual male, a vending machine where I can go buy ammo sounds awesome! However, I don't know how I feel about this facial recognition AI stuff because my little tin foil hat comes out.

But who am I fooling? I'm the same guy with two iPhones with Face ID, I have a clear and global entry pass, where I have to scan my face every time I fly.

I think I've already jumped the shark on the whole staying off the grid ambitions thing.

That said, everyone isn't as loosy-goosy as I am about that kind of stuff, so I can see some people not really liking the facial recognition part of this too much.

I also get the feeling that this is a background check, if not an outright background check, to buy ammo.

So even though I promiscuously give my personal tech devices access to my likeness before using them, something about this gives me a little bit more of the heebee jeebees.

I personally think the novelty of having an Ammo Vending machine is cool and convenient in some cases. For instance, Recently, I drove 35 minutes to go to an indoor range to do some recreational shooting, only to realize I forgot to bring ammo.

To avoid getting beat over the head price-wise at the gun range, I googled the nearest Academy Sporting Goods store ( which wasn't that near), walked to the back of the store, found my ammo, stood in line with people buying fishing gear, and then finally paid and left.

It was basically a 15-minute endeavor.

I would have killed for the grocery store down the street from the range to have an ammo vending machine where I could just dip in, pay, and leave.

I want to know what you think about this whole ammo vending machine deal in grocery stores. Are my fears unfounded, or are you like, nope, Colion Noir, you are absolutely right, not touching them with a ten-foot pole because of the AI facial recognition?

ITS NOT A VENDING MACHINE. IT'S A SURVEILLANCE DEVICE.

Anything that is approved by the ATF should be considered a gun registration

Damn, so close to a dream come true, yet even closer to a dystopian nightmare.

The ATF won't ban these, they absolutely love them. It's helping to build their registry. Now if you EVER show up somewhere with cameras they can easily ID and track you.

Yeah, they lost me at facial recognition. Screw that.

Sounds like big brother surveillance to me.

I'll just keep buying bulk supplies online. Don't want to stand in a grocery store buying ammo with strangers wondering what type of tool I have. Not worth it.

This ammo machine is like a evil Santa Claus, making a list(s) and checking it twice.

Definitely corporate privacy issues… I don’t let them scan my ID TO VERIFY my age at the convenience store for cigarettes or alcohol …. It only takes a warrant to the company to get all your purchase information from the different vendors… same as our internet data

I'm old enough to remember when pretty much every store had at least .22lr, 30-30, and 30-06. Even gas stations generally had .22lr. 😂

You are spot on nothing good can come out of this method of starting a registration. If they know the caliber of ammo they know the caliber of gun and the ball just keeps rolling.

Remember, these have been "approved" by the ATF ... just like the lower 80's were ... until they weren't.

The people who want to get rid of guns and ammunition should lead by example and get rid of their security with guns and all the protection they have around their house. LEAD BY EXAMPLE !

Yeah, my crap meter went off, too. With that whole concept for all the reasons you mentored.
But you got me... well, you kinda got me. I was hanging on every word, waiting for you to spill it. The whole time, I'm thinking, he's not going to say gay, I know it. He wants us to think that. And then you said it, and I was ROTFLMBO 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤

No body needs to see my ID to buy ammo.

Any scan of personal information can be misused. If not now then later.
