Massive respect to jamie who's also had a brilliant tennis career in the shadow of Andy but never once been bitter and has just 100% supported him top guy.

Wonderful. Oh Jamie 🥹. Thinking of my great aunt who loved Andy. She had Sky TV installed so she could watch his matches. When Andy won the US Open in 2012, she phoned me at 2am absolutely overjoyed. She passed away 10 days later. I hope Andy knows the impact he had on so many people.

It's obvious Andy comes from good stock. His mom and brother are pure class.

He's a hero to all the Sots who have left Scotland(and there are MANY). The opportunities to pursue any sort of achievements without money and "connections" just did not exist and it really did not appear that there ever would. The Murray family have given Scotland and their people hope. My father played tennis with my mom and sister at Clydebank tennis club which was shut down to build the Erskine bridge on top of its grounds. My parents left Scotland twice in 1962 and after 3 years of no chances to advance in anything upon returning to Scotland they left for good in 1973. When dad was dying of lung cancer in 2015 I made sure he saw the matches for the Davis cup. He died in September of that year knowing that the Murrays had secured team Britain's Davis cup victory which happened later that year. The Murrays dont speak about the trauma jamie and andy survived as children at their school. They surely both struggle with post traumatic stress disorder which makes it even more remarkable that they have both achieved much on and off the court. You are our heros!!

By the way Jamie Murray doesn't get the credit he deserves, he's a big bro that has encouraged and loved his little bro so much even though it's hard that Andy gets all the glitz and glamour, well played Jamie, true British/Scottish legend

I remember the 70’s, watching Borg and Evert. For so many years, we were lucky if a British man made it to week 2 of Wimbledon.
Then Tim came along and absolutely raised the game for us.
Watching Andy at Wimbledon in 2008 during a momentous tournament he captured us.
And then he gave us, for many years, his absolute best.
He’s a lesson in decency and all of his family here are wonderful, each in their own right.
I watched the U.S. Open final with my mum. She was gravely ill but insisted on staying up with me. She told me…
He will win Wimbledon next year. I might not be here but I will be with you.
I watched it on my own but I can tell you I will never forget that feeling.
I got married in 2016 and it coincided with Semis at Wimbledon. I wrote a poem for my husband, about how I’d had to give up Andy for the day. We spent our wedding night watching the matches and Andy won on the Sunday. What a weekend that was! (And thanks to my husband who sat through the lot with me!)
All of us who love him have these moments women through us. It’s not just tennis. It’s how it moves in our lives, and how it connects us.
Sir Andy, thank you. From a young kid who watched Bjorn Borg in awe, I never would have dreamed that someone closer to home could live that dream. 🙏

Back to crying again. A genuine, authentic person. So much more than his sporting talent.

What a guy. Just amazing that a lad from Dunblane became a double Wimbledon champion. Probably the most inspiring British sportsman in the last 25 years. Enjoy your new chapters in life Andy!

This was wonderful. Jamie's words about Andy genuinely made me well up. What Andy means to Scotland cannot be emphasised enough in words - he's the greatest sportsman our small nation has very produced.
