Man drives toward protest at PSU, pepper-sprays people while fleeing

Police said a man was detained after driving toward a crowd of protesters at Portland State University in Oregon. He abandoned the car and used “some kind of pepper spray” against protesters while trying to run away. #shorts

Dude was arrested for slowly driving towards a crowd, and protecting himself with pepper spray when attack by a mob. Gonna have to have a pretty horrible lawyer for those charges to stick.

Basically, this driver did nothing but drive towards a blocked road of demonstrators where some demonstrators attacked him from all sides and he defended himself by spraying those with masks on and sticks being used as he has to run off in fear for his safety AND HE GETS ARRESTED AND HELD ON A MENTAL HEALTH HOLD !!!!

This is a university campus, this is how the walkways look. They're wide enough so that in case of an emergency an ambulance/fire truck can pass through, this is not a public road for just anyone to drive through.

That's not a roadway... That's an entrance square to a Building (like all Colleges have) with bike racks right there. Though the Protesters need to quit antagonizing people.

If he wanted to kill people wouldn’t he have kept driving? He had every opportunity to do so. isn’t it more likely that by accelerating he wanted to scare people to move out of the way? Then, naturally, knowing that these protests are violent and that people who drive vehicles near them get broken into and beaten if they stay in their cars, chooses to flee, instead of backing out and possibly injuring someone.

Idk if anyone actually lives near Portland but this area isn’t a street, it’s part of the campus walkways.

Also it seems odd his car is ALONE in the area don’t you think?

People wouldn’t be screaming CAR in a ROAD with OTHER CARS unless the CAR WAS WHERE IT SHOULDNT.

Also, that bear spray isn’t something you keep in your car if you aren’t going in the wilderness. Downtown portland has its issues but bears? No this dude was trying to distrust peaceful protestors with intimidation and violence.
