The synergy of animator and actor leading up to the utterly heart-wrenching scream is immaculate. The way Emma and Norman’s facial expressions contort with horror, disgust, and disbelief at the sight of the demons at the gate is one of my favourite scenes in the show, and Morohoshi San’s guttural cry of despair that follows is beyond words. I felt so bad for Emma in this moment.
