I thought the movie was delightful. It scared the hell out of me. And I don't scare easy. The prequel first 15 minutes had me gasp a few times. The story was great. I enjoyed it more than the first movie. It was the first time I've been back to the theater since January of 2020. I loved going back to the theater, but I prefer my house instead. I hate people and large gatherings.

My girlfriend wasn't super impressed but liked it considering its not really her genre.

i think i might like this better than the first since the first gave me too much time to think about its logical faults

This has pipped Toy Story 4 as the best sequel that shouldn't exist. The film before this took a novel and cinematically-clever idea that was narratively and cinematically complete. Any film like this has the question of why it exists yawning at the heart of it, and unless it can fill in the void with a new idea big enough to fit, the only way to avoid that question is to make the movie so good it never occurs to the audience to ask. This isn't good enough to get away with how few new ideas it has, and begs the question of why you would watch this when you could just watch A Quiet Place.

ugh. I'm sorry but I'm so sick of these sci-fi horror movies that feel the need to push that obligatory "humans can be just as monstrous" trope when there are clearly actual #$%&ing monsters in the film. Seen this so many times now.

I swear that movie magic is such a crazy thing. Like A Quiet Place came out in 2018 and this movie was slated for 2020/2021. How do you keep characters looking the same after almost two years?
