Here is my reaction to to the Japanese all female rock band, NEKI (NEK!)

NEK! (pronounced as neki), a brand-new rock band that started activities at the beginning of 2024 but only recently released their very first single. Consisting of four young musicians, they began performing in March, with the highlight being 20 March, when they gave their first (free) solo show. There, they sold the song Get Over on CDs they had burned themselves. They eventually decided to label it as their first single and release it digitally, and the promotion with their very first music video clearly proved to be a success.

nek! (NEKI) continues to increase the number of customers day by day at Japan's small live house, a special place where bands can perform every month, and their first one-man show sold out immediately. This is also a small live house, and although the music is outsourced, I think it will continue to grow.

They are off to an excellent start. Hopefully Band-Maid (NEK! is heavily influenced by them), Lovebites, Nemophila or Hanabie will have them open for them at some point. Band-Maid or Nemophila are probably the best fits. The bassist (Kanade) auditioned for Lovebites at 15 yrs old and was highly regarded by them. She is a crpss between Fami (Lovebites) & F Chopper Koga (Gacharic Spin). If you want metal/rock frorm Japan, it's Lovebites, Band-Maid, Nemophila or Hanabie. Try East of Eden is you want to see some elite musicianship as well. There is many bands in Japan that are fantastic, but the level of talent from the all-female bands is off the charts. @Ohrenje has a Japanese band channel that is pretty informative.
