Hamas Fighters Enter Israel With Motorized Paragliders

Motorized paragliders are typically seen for recreation and thrill-seeking adventure. For one California paraglider, it's a joyful pastime but Palestinian militant group Hamas had other ideas. Hamas used paragliders as a low-tech way to evade Israel's air defenses in the shocking cross-border attack. It's believed to be the first time paragliders have been used as an instrument of war. Inside Edition's Jim Moret has more.

That’s a pretty ingenious way to use paragliders. I am always fascinated with new and unique ways combatant adapt with technology and how it is employed to fight wars. Between drones, AI, ML, it is all terrifying what the future of conflict holds.

A few years ago I bought a used motorized paraglider from the French army. Rotax engine with 115 hp. The trike was built from lightweight aluminum tubes. Little dead weight and a special place for a machine gun. It has a speed of more than 85 km/h, including an emergency parachute. The French used it with the Foreign Legion, they climb to an altitude of 3500 m, switch off the engine and land 20 km behind the border. No one sees or hears you, do your job as a soldier and then disappear into the night. What I don't understand is how Hamas can cross such a well-guarded border?
