AMS 5537 is a specification for L-605. A Cobalt based alloy with a nominal composition of 52% Cobalt, 20% Chromium, 15% Tungsten, and 10% Nickel.
The UNS designation is R30605. Typical applications are for components requiring high strength at temperatures up to 1500 deg F or oxidation resistance up to 2000 deg F. A solid solution alloy, it cannot be further strengthened by heat treatment. Product to this specification is in the form of Sheet, Strip, and Plate. Strength requirements vary by product and thickness.
