I’m glad you are showing how you are working toward your goals. Budgeting is so important. When I was 11-12 yrs old, my mom would have me write the checks for the house hold bills and match up all the receipts before paying off her credit card each month. It made me understand how much it cost to take care of the family.
I have had a budget since I moved out on my own at age 19. Now in my late 30s with a big girl job, the budget and expenses have changed to much!! I track everything, but I started this year tracking 4 categories, Household (Walmart and Target purchases for household items), Gas, Groceries, and Pets (I have 3 large dogs). In July those four categories added up to over $1, 900.00, which is ridiculous!!!
I am mindful of saving (retirement accounts and emergency funds) but also have an app that rounds up my purchases and invests that amount into stocks and bonds. I don’t even want to think about how much things are going to cost when it’s time for me to retire. How do you save for retirement? How does retirement work in the UK? I think that would be an interesting topic that young people need to hear about. ❤
