Telling a doctor what you did and where it is and ahving them laugh at you, poke you about, and say "It's not there" is a sickeningly relatable experience. Put my life at risk and made me feel like going back to the doctors would be a waste of time. I ended up performing my own operation using random metal doodads, creating a super dangerous tool. Despite the bleeding, it was a success. Sheer luck I didn't get an infection. I hate that I had to go through that with the alternative being either death or decades of suffering. I don't get how doctors can be so inept.
