People can hate on Desanto for his younger year antic. But I'd be willing to bet he brought a few people into the wrestling viewership because of them.

Every loss for desanto gives me such pain, I’ve followed him since the beginning of his career at Iowa and grow to be my favorite wrestler. That last take down hurt a lot, my heart was pounding the entire match and he deserved the win, he always works the hardest on the mat, but keeps coming up short.

This one almost made me cry. hes grown so much as a wrestler and than as a man. He was razor close to getting it done. As a die hard Hawkeye Wrestling fan, we appreciate it'd my man. RBY is just too good right now.

Such a good match. At 35 secs left DeSanto makes that subtle whip/shuck attempt/fake, just enough movement for RBY to grab that leg. That's all it took to decide the match, razor thin difference in styles really.

The difference as I see it is RBY stays relaxed and is able to react with tremendous speed on counter attacks as a result. Iowa wrestlers push and pull and push some more. Seldom relaxed and that takes a lot of energy and sometimes sends a telegram to the opponent regarding where you are and where you plan to be next.

Damn I feel for DeSanto. He may be a dick but he put in the work. Could never quite beat RBY but that was his best showing.

Desanto has really turned around his attitude the past few matches. I kinda feel bad for him (he just can't beat RBY). But on the other hand RBY totally deserves this.

A this point, you have to say that coaching plays a part in this. Other teams are catching up to Iowa. The era of "hope your opponents body breaks before your's does" doesn't work anymore.

No one really remembers guys who takes 3rd or 4th... we all will remember Desanto.

RBY isnt fun anymore! Stalls the whole first period and Desanto always has one little error that causes him to lose! Always pressing the action yet they never call a stall call on RBY and they even told Desanto he was stalling! BS!
