Synopsis: When Michael is washed up on an island in the Pacific after falling from his parents' yacht, he struggles to survive on his own. He can't find food and he can't find water, and as Michael and his dog curl up to sleep, he knows they cannot last long. But he soon realizes there is someone close by, someone who is watching over him and helping him to stay alive. Following a close-run battle between life and death, the mysterious stranger -- Kensuke -- allows Michael into his world and they become friends, teaching and learning from each other until the day of separation becomes inevitable.

I remember reading this book in primary school 🥺 I’d actually already checked it out from the library before my teacher chose it for us to read together in class so I was a bit ahead of everyone else lolz. I loved her, she was really classy, I remember I was pronouncing “Stella Artois” wrong until I heard her say it (Stella Artois is the name of the dog 🐶).

0:20 the scream here is so much more expressive than the animation

Watching a movie, this trailer popped up, and at 0:27 when the kid gets cast overboard with the cut off scream, my entire theater including me laughed. We are all terrible.
