I really like tone on tone speckles. It's a subtle, sophisticated effect. Knowing how many different blue hues you have in your collection, it could be really fun to pull out a bunch of colors from your recent blue swatch test--maybe a very light cornflower or baby blue eyes tonal speckled with as many shades of blue as you think the yarn can handle!?

Love the use of two similar hues on one base. Look forward to seeing more like this with speckles or even more random stripes.

I would definitely like to see the mix of citric acid with the powder. I'd also like to see a light/bright blue with a navy speckle done this way. This sorta follows what I've been wanting to see where you have heat set a dip dye and added speckles later. I also wouldn't mind seeing a pretty contrasting color onto a heat set dip dye. This is very pretty and classic. I like it!
I would like to see this tried on a few types of yarn bases. SW Merino (Swish), 50/50 merino/nylon, and non-superwash wool.

I've been thinking that if you get two of those large plastic cookie plates from a dollar store. Coil a roving on one and then do squiggly lines radiating out from the center, maybe add some speckles. Then place the other tray over the coil and flip the whole thing over and repeat. Steam set, and hay presto dyed roving with minimal handling. I think you could get a very interesting look.

If you dye the bright yellow tonal first then knit it with your sock blank maker, then overdye it with a very light purple. The colors might turn out grayish yellow with bright pops of yellow. where the resist happened.

Just catching up on your recent videos... And right in time, too—immediately clicked over to Etsy and managed to bag the last skein! I've been holding back on buying any more sock yarn, because I've already got three (not yet started) sock projects in queue (not to mention the [I refuse to depress myself by counting them] started and unstarted other fiber arts projects)—and I'm not a fast knitter—but it's YELLOW, so I couldn't resist!

I wonder if sunflower yellow would have more punch than brilliant yellow?

What would happen if you mixed up a super-saturated dye stock, like a dye syrup, and use drops of it to make big speckles?

Yeah yellow! Is there a way to dye yarn white?

I've been thinking a lot about speckles of the same color, some mixed with citric acid and some without. Expecially purple pop - would the breaking be different? Or blue on a yellow base - would the speckles without citric acid be more green because they wouldn't strike as fast?
