Quick video on my Mercedes GLK350 and the common issues I have either replaced or needed to address. Below are the top 5 items:

SUSPENSION
Brake pads, pads sensors and rotors in all 4 corners
**Common issues one should be ready for are bearing hubs. Both my rear bearing hub assembly was replaced as it was making a loud roaring noise at 60 mph.

FUEL PUMP **Apparently this is a common issue
Electric in take fuel pump PZEV (failed and was struggling to pump fuel)
In tank fuel filter (It was cracked and leaking gas from the top where the harness connected to the wire)
Fuel tank modular cover (It was leaking from the cracked plastic top)

ACCESSORY BELT
Belt tensioner
Serpentine belt
Both Idler pulleys

REGULAR MAINTENANCE
air filter, cabin filter, oil filter, spark plugs etc.

BATTERY
New battery

On a plus side, I have never seen the check engine light on with my GLK and it has been very reliable. I would recommend it.

The reason i really like this car is because how well it drives after 11 years. It has just enough electronic tech to make it a modern car but not too much to make it “dealer services only”.

We have 2010. Besides normal maintenance and transmission mount replacement (normal for glk/c), we had steering module failure - that chip was expensive and had to be programmed. The cost was $1.2k if I remember correctly. Great car, easy to drive, looks great. We have the premium, tech, and appearance packages. It is driven daily, garaged, waxed occasionally and look like a 2 year old car. It is also distinct vs all other round shape compact suvs.

Have a 2014 I bought used in 2016. Still going strong in 2024 @ almost 90k miles. Have had almost no issues. Best car I've ever owned. With regular service it just keeps on going. Rock solid & reliable.

I bought my 2015 GLK in 2020. It needed a new battery and tires upon purchase. Other than that, it's been very reliable. She was garage kept until 2 years ago and continues to hold up well. I DO have to fix some oil leak that the mechanic noted was common for Mercedes.
I'm happy to see all the comments rallying behind the reliability of this model.

198, 000 miles on my 2010 GLK350. Replaced all brakes pads at 180, 000, not because they were worn, but because I gave the car to my wife. Major work has been the engine mounts and the steering wheel locking system. Other than that, regular maintenance. Great car!

Good video. I got a 2013 x204 gasoline version with over 125k miles and keep going. Very reliable and relatively cheap on maintenance and easy to repair. No broke downs, only the usual maintenance and tear and wear.

Great video! I own a 2010 GLK 350 4 MATIC with 220, 000 miles as of October 2021. I definitely have benefited from your DIY videos. On the 4 MATIC I had a front wheel drive shaft issue that required replacement ($1, 200). No fuel pump/filter issues as of yet. Most fluid changes have been DIY with exception of transmission. Thanks to your videos brakes are DIY now too. I'm running the original serpantine belt and pullys - mechanic has inspected and show little serious wear. The low beam headlight bulb - especially drivers side has been a real pain - just getting access. Inside the car, the rotary knob for the Merceded Command system has failed - as widely reported by others. I work around it since its not worth the $500 to replace. My sunroof/sunshade now refuses to open - a suspected control module or relay failure - and quote was $1, 000 to fix - again, not worth it at this point. The engine itself is is great shape - smooth - despite needing new engine mounts. I plan to soldier on with my GLK as its my daily driver. Any suggestions from your perspective would be welcome! Nice job on your videos. Some of the best DIY on YT!

I have 2010 GLK with 110K miles. The computer needed to be changed, door actuators (both driver and passenger), steering lock, front and back brake pad and disk, engine mounts, intake manifold, spark plugs, multiple low beam bulbs, wiper, regular oil changes (5K) & transmission fluid changes (50K), passenger seat has a tear from use (patched it up). I also had the belt replaced as a maintenance item at 100K. The Car drives very smooth and is on its third set of tires. I plan to keep it for 50K miles more.

Got mine brand new 2012. Had to have the whole car repainted 2 years in, the “mars red” had a defect that made it peel off in cold weather! Otherwise been a dream car. Currently at 107, 000, about to follow your video and change the spark plugs since it’s been throwing a code

Glad to hear I’m not the only one with these issues. Mine also had an ignition lock issue that I had to fix.

I want one so bad, looking at a 2013 model from carmax. Just worried about the maintenance and repairs. I was going for an rx360 but suddenly I want a Mercedes.

My 2012 GLK350 with 133000 miles recently started having some shifting issues (722.9 Automatic Transmission). Shifting used to be so smooth that you couldn’t feel the shifting. Now, 3rd to 4th gear shift is a little out of sync with the engine rpm change. Sometimes there’s a clunk/jerk with downshifting if I slow down by coasting uphill. Have you had or heard of any issues like this? From my research, it seems like the common problem is with the TCM (transmission control module) which is integrated into the conductor plate on this transmission. Thank you very much for your videos!

Great Video! My GLK350 is making a quiet rattling noise when accelerating around 30mph. I'm at 126k miles. What could this be?
