The way there is so much evidence to suggest egypt was built 12, 000 years ago or more is mind blowing. And the fact that egypt will no longer let Graham Hancock visit anymore is questionable.

I like the Lion's head. There are a lot of normal lions in ancient Egyptian sculpture and art and theme of that immediate area is simplicity. Nothing would be more impressive than a huge lion with a mane watching over the area.

I have always thought that the head looks newer (smoother) than the body. 10, 000 years ago North Africa was much wetter compared to when the pyramids were built 4, 500 years ago. Also, this head looks disproportionately small for the body.
It makes total sense that Egyptians found these older structures -- appropriated some, and changed the head of the Sphinx to gratify a ruling Pharaoh.
Would be awesome to find the original head...unless it was destroyed.

I think an advanced human civilization was aware of a catastrophic event that would decimate the world and they left Arks of knowledge around the world in the hope of preserving humanity.
I think they would have used materials that would withstand the test of time.
I think allot of the technology has since eroded but enough was left to explain the leaps in technology that we have throughout history.

Head could've been that of anubis. Speculation about Constellation leo is not valid if its much older than 10k years old.
