A hallmark of Mark & Co's performances is the blend of different instruments round his voice and guitar to produce a sound that is often subtle and gentle, but has a real intensity and depth. So it is with this song, with first the mandolin and then the pan pipe both adding piquancy and emotion to the song, with the sound of the percussion, double bass and organ providing a solid platform in the background for them to work on.
