Gary Vee is one of the most sought-after speakers in the marketing and business world today. I had the pleasure of seeing Gary Vee speak at the Synergy Global Forum in October 2017. I recorded the first few minutes of his speech to see what tactics and strategies he uses to open and get the audience warmed up for what they are about to hear.

Major things to notice:
-Starting off with a joke to get the crowd laughing
-Giving praise and thanks to his parents, which again gets the crowd cheering and applauding right away
-And teasing the topic "perspective" without going into too much detail, to get us wanting more.

Whether he does these things naturally or has practiced, I don't know. But these are simple and effective techniques you can use to open your presentations.
