Dikembe was a real one! He was so educated (he spoke like 7 languages) and such a philanthropist. One of the best defensive players of all time. Such a sad loss.

He was known for his *"Not in my house!"* finger wag, but I'll never forget that iconic scene of him lying on the Key Arena court crying tears of joy after his 8th seed Denver Nuggets beat the 1st seed Seattle Supersonics in 1994. RIP Mt. Mutombo.

More should be said about the people among us that do great things for their fellow humans. Real hero's don't ask for accolades or even think of them as end goals, they do the real hard work because they care. Mutombo was a part of my childhood too. And as a child I only saw him as a greater than life athlete, as an adult I came to find out about all of his philanthropic works and was amazed at his selflessness. We lose great humanitarians everyday and we shouldn't forget that fact. Dikembe hits hard because he was in our lives through sport but he was most importantly human with a huge heart.
