Plenty of confidence in the financial markets after a phone call between US President Joe Biden and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping. Investors are hoping that the conversation might indicate a willingness to nudge bilateral ties onto a more serious path. Senior analyst Bo Zhuang from Loomis Sayles shared his thoughts on a potential thaw in the US-China trade war. The relationship between the two have been at a standstill since Mr Biden took office. The previous Trump administration negotiated a Phase 1 trade deal in Jan 2020, but the pact expires at the end of 2021.
